BMD Shortlisted for Award

Bath architects firm Batterham Matthews Design has been shortlisted for an award for this new home in the Cotwolds.

The Batheaston company is in the running for a Grands Designs Award in the eco home category.

The house, Owlpen Wood, features building materials from sustainable sources, an energy efficient heat pump, water saving technology and high levels of insulation.

The awards ceremony, on April 30 in London, will be attended by leading architects and designers as well as celebrities and the media.

The awards will be presented by Kevin McCloud, presenter of Channel 4's Grand Designs Show.

Director George Batterham said: "The clients were committed to a sustainability agenda throughout the briefing and construction and, as such, it was a pleasure to work with such an enlightened and forward thinking client."
